Swiss Federal Railways De 4/4 1669 electric luggage railcar.

A total of 11 Fe 4/4 units were fitted with electric brakes in 1930/1931 and 1938 for use on the Seetalbahn and the steep Vallorbe–Le Pont line. Following the decision to modernise this sub-series, the Yverdon workshop converted the De 4/4 1669 in 1965–1966. It was intended to serve as a prototype at the time, belonged to the Lausanne depot and was due for its major overhaul. The converted railcar was fitted with the following innovations, amongst others: a driver’s cab for seated operation, new pneumatic equipment, a compressed air main switch, a new jump-start battery and an enclosed driver’s cab. The only feature to remain unchanged was its dark green livery with a light grey undercarriage.
